Pregnancy Massage

Massage during pregnancy is extremely beneficial for the well-being of the mother-to-be.

Soft, flowing massage strokes reach deeply into muscles, easing aches and pains common in pregnancy. The massage helps open and soften the body so that feelings of cramp, compression and shortness of breath are relieved. The massage is full body and can include the bump.

Most importantly, the pregnancy massage is designed to be relaxing. It allows space and time for the pregnant mother to think about herself, and to feel connected with her growing baby.

What can I expect?

I will massage your back, shoulders, legs and feet (plus bump if you wish) which are the areas most women find need extra attention in pregnancy. I will suggest movement and positions to help you remain healthy during pregnancy. The massage moves are deep enough to have an affect on sore muscles, while being soft and repetitive which creates a gentle rhythmic flow and leads to an effective and very relaxing massage.

During the massage you will lie on your side on a mattress on the floor supported by lots of pillows. It is a very safe and comfortable position and enables clients to fully relax, and even fall asleep! I can massage you at any time during your pregnancy, even if you go over 40 weeks.

A full consultation is taken before the massage to ensure the massage meets your needs. The consultation may highlight worries, concerns or questions, and with over 15 years’ experience of working with antenatal women I can help answer some of your questions and suggest other services if I can’t help.
